On Saturday just gone Imani turned 4 weeks oId. I can’t believe this super cute warrior princess was once in my tummy! 🙈 Happy 4 week birthday! Time is just whizzing by!!
Since posting my post pregnancy progress I’ve been intrigued by peoples comments/reactions. Firstly, I have to say thank you to all that sent such lovely positive messages and comments.
A comment I hear often is ‘your body just bounced back’ and that I’m ‘lucky’.
My body didn’t just ‘bounce back’ What you must understand is that I’ve been training and conditioning my body for many years before deciding to start a family.
I changed my training to safe pregnancy workouts and continued to exercise throughout my pregnancy not for aesthetics but to aid and support both pregnancy & labour keeping me and my baby healthy.
I fuelled my body with the right foods! As a results I had an easy pregnancy and a quick recovery.
I’m no different to you or anything special, this was my first pregnancy therefore completely new to me, I have sleepless/restless nights with a newborn too, a million and one things to do and a business to run.
I’m not ‘lucky’, I Labour-Under-Correct-Knowledge and work towards my goals and get results because I know how and what to do and more importantly what works for ME!
My body didn’t just bounce back on its own, I worked my ass off for it before I got pregnant and after pregnancy both with effective training and more importantly good nutrition and I therefore won’t allow others to diminish my efforts and hard work with a somewhat sweeping statement about it being down to luck! Make your own ‘luck’!
It’s not about ‘looking good’ but about being fit and healthy on the inside which will reflect on the outside too!
Try not to fixate on “getting your body back” but on HEALING your body and sculpting a ‘new you’. Bounce forward and accept your body has changed for the better! #Onwards&Upwards
