After our adventures this week I decided that yesterday we would have a girlie day and lots of skin to skin time together.
We started the day with a new experience for us both, THE SHOWER
I got everything organised to make it as smooth as possible before, during and after and off we went!
She LOVED the shower and so did I albeit on the cooler side to how I usually like it but #Sacrifices! What an awesome way to bond together!
The shower completely relaxed her, she loved the splashes of water on her face whilst being cuddled closely and it meant we could both get ready for the day together and in record breaking time! #Result
After that we had skin to skin time whilst she fed and then fell asleep on top of me. We spent most of the day like this, snuggled up, cuddling and feeding and I loved every minute of it
Skin to skin time is just simply amazing. It’s important to me to have this time together and to treasure every second whilst I can. It’s easy to let ‘life’ take over and take time for granted, so arrange and plan in time for you BOTH to relax with one another. The cleaning, dishes, washing etc can all wait! Easier said then done, I know!
My trick is ‘out of sight, out of mind’. I get everything I need, food, drinks etc, everything to last me and I take it all upstairs to our bedroom and make it nice and cosy so I don’t need to go back downstairs for anything.
This way I won’t be tempted to ‘quickly wipe down the kitchen surface’ or ‘just fold the laundry’ because before you know it, you’ll be up and down doing all sorts!
This works for me anyway and stops me being distracted by trivial chores that need doing that can quite simply wait!. Today was all about OUR time together! Imani comes first
